sequins, shades, and a EW, why would you wear that?

I finally got to wear my MJ shoes. Honestly, I thought they would be uncomfortable because the platform is low compared to the heel, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. (Although I had some trouble balancing while trying to get the hair whipping shot).

I usually don't like matching bright colors within the same outfit, but I thought these sequin shorts brought more attention to my shoes. I went out this night (in this outfit) and ran into someone I haven't seen since high school .. as soon as she saw me, her reaction was,

"Ew why would you wear that?!"

Hahaha .. oh the joy of living in Chicago where everyone just dresses in Banana.

*SIGH* (the happy kind) I've been eyeing these for the longest time but could never afford to spend so much on a pair of shoes. I somehow miraculously found a website from the UK called theoutnet.com last week. They were discounted at 144 pounds which is around $215? Couldn't believe it! o_O More pictures to come later ...

I got a surprise in my mailbox today .. my long awaited pet tarantula.

I ordered him almost 2 months ago from Ebay hoping to wear it on the sleeve of my fur coat, but it came so late. Weather in Chicago has been warming up, so I have to find another suitable place for him~

So I was hoping to receive some feedback from you guys with this post. I've been watching all the make-up tutorials on YouTube for asians and tried a new look. I've been having mixed feelings about this look ... does it look like it's too much?

I haven't been able to update in so long I feel. After a dreadful 2 weeks of midterms, I was finally starting my spring break and managed to get the flu .. again. After crawling around home in my pajamas during my week off, I decided I needed to get out at least ONCE during my break. I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut my bangs, jammed on some heavy duty black eyeliner, put on my new Sonia Rykiel pour H&M sweater and was ready to go.

I looked for this bag in this color at every single department store I could think of with no luck .. finally was able to track one down at a Bloomingdale's in Country Side, California.

I've been in the midst of midterms and haven't gotten a chance to update in awhile - but I feel that I can take a break at the moment and making an entry would be a perfect way to spend my little break :)

So .. last week was restaurant week in Chicago meaning that a gazillion restaurants were offering set menus for a lower price. Unfortunately, I only got to go to one (again, because of my midterms). Here I am in front of Capital Grille. My hair looks like octopus tentacles coming out of a fur ball .. but in a strange way, I kind of like it.

I love these babies. Don't let the height scare you - they are one of the most comfortable shoes I own!

It's Monday .. cold and dreary outside. Monday wouldn't be Monday without bad weather though, right? On a brighter note, I had a great weekend. Below are some pics from my Valentine's Day evening. No expert photography .. just some quick self snapshots before heading out for dinner with my boyfriend :) I kept it pretty simple for the night:

I absolutely love these shoes. The picture doesn't do justice. Chunky wedges are my favorite, and these chunky wedges lift me up a good 5 inches. They're super comfortable on my feet, but I have to walk really slow .. still worth it!

I feel like I haven't updated in awhile, but I've been really sick .. go figure~ I live in Chicago- It's freezing here! I'm sure the fact that my classes are starting to whoop my ass and the fact that I've been so busy that all I've ingested in the past two weeks are ramen, salami, and Americanos added onto my mess too .. gross I know. I've been feeling like poop these days~ So what does a girl do when she feels down? Shop! But of course I was too sick to try to shop in this weather .. so I ordered shoes online. :) Two pairs :) I've received only one pair so far, but so far so good.

Okay, so I have to stop here to tell you guys the story that lies behind this outfit. That DG top .. It was around $700 retail, but I got it for $100 in Las Vegas!!! There are a chain of outlets called the Premium Outlets. We have one in a Chicago suburb, but it does NOT have a Dolce and Gabbana store. I went to the Premium Outlet in Las Vegas and was shocked to see that DG even has an outlet! I had won $500 that day from 2 slot machines, and I felt even luckier after finding this jacket. It was truly an amazing day.

On another occasion, I was shopping with my friend who had asked me to go into Lord and Taylor with her. [I have never shopped at that department store in my life prior to this occasion]. I noticed that they had a huge BCBG section, so I decided to look around. Another lucky day. I got those pants for $28!!! It was originally around $140 I believe, but they were on clearance for $28. Sometimes I hate living in Chicago, but I feel that if I didn't live in Chicago, I wouldn't be able to find such bargains on hot pieces. [You see, Chicagoans tend to avoid anything a little out of the ordinary. I guess people here weren't fans of the exaggerated pockets. Yay for me!] Haha, sorry for the rambling, but I had to let that out. I get super excited when I find great deals :)

The Ticks close-up. Anyone that are considering buying them - they are a little tight at the ankles, but the soles feel ultra comfortable.

As I said before, my second pair of shoes haven't arrived yet .. but they are Campbells also hehe. Can you guess which ones they might be?
